Did you know that by law the three major credit bureau’s are required to give you a copy of your credit report to you once you request it. But is that really enough considering that companies can hit your credit hundreds of times a month! Let me tell you from experience, if you do not watch your credit score and continually monitor your own credit report there could be a lot going on behind your back that you do not know about. One of the steps to financial health is ensuring your credit score stays where it should be. When companies hit one of the Credit agencies for a report it is really no big deal, but if many companies do it over and over it can start to lower your score. Another reason to watch your report is to stay ahead of would be identity thieves that can pull loans on your social security number. Getting your copy is a good start to strong financial health but I would suggest you go a little bit further. Staying on top of companies who get a running credit score is very important and using totally free credit report will keep you out of trouble. Once you subscribe they will constantly monitor your credit and automatically notify you when some pulls a credit report on you. They will also notify you when a company posts anything negative on your credit report to ensure that you can either make sure it is true or see if someone is abusing your identity. Don’t get taken advantage of, make sure that you know everything about what is happening with your credit. It could save you some undesired financial pain.
